Master of Ceremony's INTRODUCTION FOR CORK GRAHAM
- Traumatized by war, our speaker was far from what you'd call a success as a child growing up in Saigon and Singapore, and even throughout high school in California.
- He and his parents were repeatedly called in by the school counselors where the counselor would tell his parents that Cork had an "inability to concentrate", and "showed no interest or enthusiasm."
- Not until he was in his early teens and being held in a Vietnamese political prison did he learn that his childhood dyslexia and lack of interest in the world around him was one of the many symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder resulting from his childhood in Vietnam during the war.
- But, by that time he had learned that he did have drive to turn his life around and quickly learned the secrets of following the inner-self, or what Joseph Campbell called "hero within".”
- He went on to earn an English and journalism degree, founded a communications company, and is now the best-selling author of The Bamboo Chest: An Adventure in Healing the Trauma of War.
- As a behavior specialist and professional speaker, he has made it his life’s work to help other people go beyond their initially perceived limitations and reach a true unlimited success!
- He has been featured on major television networks like NBC, ABC, CNN, Good Morning America, USA Today, and such periodicals as the San Francisco Chronicle, and the Wall Street Journal, too name a few.
- Having won a number of awards and commendations in journalism and military life, Cork considers his greatest achievement to be helping those like him confront the almost insurmountable demons of PTSD and inner perception of lack of success.
- Please help me welcome... Cork Graham
