Born in Trinidad and Tobago to an American father and Ecuadorian
mother, and having lived in South Vietnam and Singapore the first thirteen
years of my life, traveling widely throughout Asia, Latin America, the Middle

looking to roll like a stone with no moss, as I used to during the 1980s and
early 1990s, when I was traveling and working on my own in some very
